ESCANABA, MI - Bay College will host its first High School Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 6th at Gladstone's Farmhouse course, the same venue that previously hosted the U.P. Finals a few years ago.
Gladstone Farmhouse XC Course
4568 20th Rd.,
Gladstone, MI 49837
The event will feature 13 high school teams competing across three races throughout the morning:
- 10:00 AM – Open Race (for coaches, alumni, parents, community members, and JV athletes)
- 10:45 AM – High School Girls Varsity Race
- 11:30 AM – High School Boys Varsity Race
Awards will be presented to the top 15 individuals in each race, along with team champions for the varsity divisions.
One of the most exciting updates to this familiar course is the addition of a unique feature: athletes will now race through one of the horse barns on the property, offering runners and spectators a unique, one-of-a-kind cross country experience.
"We're excited to offer high school athletes a unique racing experience," said Scott Carhoun, Bay College Cross Country Coach. "With the new course updates, especially the addition of the horse barn, we anticipate the athletes will be chomping at the bit to be the first to run through"
The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to participate in the Open Race to start the morning.
For those unable to attend in person, Bay College will also be providing a livestream of the races, available at: https://youtube.com/live/AqmGlbiEA1Q?feature=share
