ESCANABA, MI – The Norse Women's Basketball Team's Lauren Zawada was named MCCAA Northern Conference Player of the Week for her play in two Norse victories over the past weekend.

In a blowout win over Lorain County Community College, Zawada's (SO, Bark River, MI) minutes were limited as Bay saw 13 players get significant minutes.  Zawada still made a big impact in the victory, putting up 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

The following afternoon Lauren had a big part in the upset victory over the #12 ranked Rock Valley College Golden Eagles.  In that game she tallied 18 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

For the two games Zawada averaged 14 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and shot 33.3% from the floor, helping lead the Norse to two victories to start the season.
